Regular Scheduled Flights
The most common route taken to Long Island is through Nassau (NAS), on the island of New Providence. Most major air carriers have scheduled flights to Nassau (NAS). Once you have arrived in Nassau, Southern Air Charters and Bahamas Air offer scheduled flights from Nassau (NAS) to Long Island.
There are two airports on Long Island. Whenever possible, we recommend flying into Stella Maris Airport (SML) because it is just a 20 minutes taxi ride from the resort. Deadmans Cay Airport (LLI) is a one-hour taxi transfer from Cape Santa Maria.
Southern Air Charters typically flies into Stella Maris Airport, Bahamas Air only flies into Deadman’s Cay Airport. Southern Air Charters and Bahamas Air recommend that you leave 2-3 hours between your connecting flights.
If the regularly scheduled flights don’t work with your vacation plans, consider booking a private charter. We highly recommend Stella Maris Air Service or Island Wing Charters.
Island Wings – offers you the comfort and privacy of your own 5-seat Piper Aztec airplane
Price: $1450.00/plane (incl. tax) NAS-SML (one way)
Please note, these charter services may be able to assist with flights between Long Island and other nearby airports/airstrip including Georgetown, Exuma and Fort Lauderdale, FL.
